Welcome Home! Hope all went smoothly getting back there and thank you so much for coming (great distances for some)to help make this Cavalcade probably the very best, trails-wise.

Thanks very much to all of you who have taken the time to provide feedback about the Cavalcade. We have got the message loud and clear from everyone that the Host Town set-up with accommodation and festivities so far removed from each other just doesn’t work.
We are very happy to announce that next year we will be finishing at the Oamaru Racecourse. Everything will be on site just a couple of minutes walk from each other – the parade, the markets, the padlocking, accommodation, the dinner and the hoe-down. Even more exciting than that is the North Otago Scouts will be doing the catering!! These guys have done the catering for the Tussock Creek Light Wagons for over a decade and have a reputation for exceeding expectations! The Oamaru Host Town Committee includes a few Cavalcaders who really understand what you want and they are absolutely committed to showing off their hospitality!
The official DVD is almost complete and will hopefully be posted out by Ross in the next couple of weeks.

Speight’s have to be given a big ‘good on ya mate’ for the can’s at each trail start and especially for you Heavy Wagoner’s the wee shout they put on at the Lindis Hotel was very well received! We’ll share that one around so hopefully next year a different trail will get it.
Make sure you get some Grans Remedy if your partners feet are becoming a bit ‘over powering’ (you don’t even need to tell them just slip a tsp of it in their shoes while they’re asleep).
